Beseder Gallery

Date: 3.-31.10.2024

On October 3, Beseder Gallery will host the opening of an exhibition by Ukrainian artist Andrey Kovalenko.

Andrey Kovalenko was born on April 20, 1976 in Odessa. He was born in the family of artists Yuri Kovalenko and Svetlana Kovalenko-Svedova. In 1996 the artist graduated from the Odessa Art School named after M. B. Grekov. Andrey started his creative activity in 1993. He held twenty-seven personal exhibitions, also participated in city, national and international exhibitions, plein air and biennials. Since 2008 Andrey Kovalenko has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Some of his works are represented in Ukrainian museums as part of private collections.
In 2022, when the war broke out, Andrey and his large family moved to Poland. Since then, the artist has been living and working in Poland.

His style and creative handwriting are recognizable. It is an elegant blend of expressionism with naive art and his bright palette is a typical feature of the South Ukrainian school of art. "In my work I consider expression, free interpretation of space and time, color saturation captured in the line of energy of gesture to be important," the artist says about himself.

He decided to call his exhibition at Beseder Gallery "Traveling Palette", which is not surprising - he is a great lover of working en plein air and has traveled almost all over Ukraine, actively exploring its nature and beauty. "In our world of computer technology and digital aesthetics, it is important for me to share with people exclusively what passes through my hands and heart. I would like a visit to my exhibition to be an escape, a transport to another reality."

The exhibition runs until the end of October.

Admission is free.
